The pop ups in this book are amazing. It’s a definite buyI don't know who enjoyed this more...my daughter or granddaughter! This is paper engineering! How do they make Rapunzel's tower two feet tall and still fold into the book?! The graphics are beautiful and having all the little pull outs captured the attention of the 10 year old as well as the 8 year old. A wonderful product. This book is absolutely amazing! The detail and intricate work but into every single detail is BEYOND amazing. No corner of the book as wasted and was full of spectacular surprises! Even thought about buying a 2nd book to keep out of the hands of my little ones. LolVery nice book, although it needs more story on its pages. The pop ups are very pretty. The kids were impressedThis book is beautiful !It's a really beautiful book. My 6 year old daughter loves it.This book is seriously magical. I did not have too many issues with tearing (not nearly as much as I would expect buying a massively ambitious, USED, pop up book). I was struck by how detailed and just- there’s no other word for it- magical this book is!My only qualm is an editorial one. They do technically have all of the princesses (up to time of publication, so not Moana), however there are only 5 main spreads and 11 smaller books throughout each spread (I told you- ambitious!). Of the 11 smaller books, 5 are devoted to the same 5 of the main spread. Of the 5 on the main spread, all of them are white. Rapunzel (who is a great princess, but no one’s favorite) dethrones both Jasmine and Pocahontas for a larger spread. I’m not usually one to notice that sort of thing, but I just didn’t like seeing every Disney Princess of color as a tiny book next to the larger white princesses (some of whom, honestly no one cares about).I REALLY hope they make this again- it is so ingenious and meticulous. Everything you’d expect from Disney. But I hope next round they shine more spotlight on the diverse (and so interesting! Hello, Mulan??) princesses. And at the very least, devote all the small books to the second tier princesses, wherever they may be. Economizing but still doing them justice. The book has damage since no stuffing was put in the box, for being such an expensive book we're very upsetProbably one of the best Pop-Up books we've bought. Beautifully illustrated, thoughtfully designed and well constructed. So much more than a standard pop-up book and features pull tabs, pop-ups, opening flaps, pull-outs and transforming scenes. Eleven of the Disney Princesses are here from traditional characters such as Snow White through to more modern characters such as Merida. It's probably worth mentioning the entire story for each Princess isn't re-told here just the key highlights such as Cinderella's transformation as she changes into her ball gown.A large format book at approx 11 inches high which makes it a good size to hold and spreads the magic further. There aren't many pages, approx 5, but it's all about the special effects and interaction. There's plenty to do on each page.I've been waiting to buy this book until my granddaughter was old enough to appreciate it as something very special. As it's her 6th birthday next week the book is her birthday gift and I can't wait to share it with her but; I wouldn't recommend the book for younger children. Though well made and surprisingly strong these gorgeous pages won't withstand wear and tear at the hands of the very young.Highly recommended as a collectible to keep in the family and cherish for many years.I love Reinhart and have pretty much all of his pop up books.I found this one disappointing for the choice of films for the main pop ups. You'd think Aladdin and Beauty & the Beast would be amongst them given the profile pics of the main characters on the front and back cover. My daughters have little interest in the films from the 60s/70s.Which is why the inclusion of Tangled as a main pop up seems out of place. I hope he does another with more recent films.Positives: Amazing book...Its an absolute must have for any collector of Pop-Up Books. Great illustrations and amazing innovative pop-up mechanisms.Brilliant composition color choices and finishing touches.Negatives: There are few flaws - The paper mechanism on the last page seem not to be working perfectly causing a tear on my book...The used paper on which the book is printed is not durable enough to take the impact of the very large and complex pop-up mechanisms. The small side pop-ups are ordered in the same predictable way used on every single page and they do not bring much of a surprise..This book is for my Granddaughter and I’m sure she will absolutely love it. It is much nicer in real life than on the photos. This book is absolutely beautiful. I can't believe it doesn't cost more! The illustrations are lovely and the pop ups are so intricate. As well as the amazingly constructed main pop ups on each page there are also several flaps that open smaller pop ups and tabs to move parts of the image. May be fiddly and fragile for smaller fingers but an absolute must for any disney princess fan! I love it!
